Discussion in 'Windows, Linux & Others on the Mac' started by iTindle, Dec 2, 2006. Pro Engineer in Parallels I just got my first ever Mac, a Macbook Pro 2.16ghz with 1gb Ram. Rhino 5 For Mac. Apple Mac with an Intel processor. 8 GB memory (RAM) or more is recommended. 600 MB disk space. NVIDIA or AMD graphics processor is recommended. Our Mac Mini with Parallels 3D acceleration ran Rhino's samples smoothly. We rendered the Human Head 2 sample model by Maxwell without any problem, so we think Parallels Desktop is a good way for using Rhino on Mac before a stable version of Rhino is released for this platform. Rhino 5 For Mac. Apple Mac with an Intel processor. 8 GB memory (RAM) or more is recommended. 600 MB disk space. NVIDIA or AMD graphics processor is recommended. I will soon be using Rhino 4 in PD. I currently have a Windows XP guest with 128MB 3D hardware acceleration on a MBP 2.2GHz 4GB 10.6.2 setup and am considering upgrading from Parallels Desktop 4 to 5.
Hey I need to buy rhino as part of my degree but I own a Mac. The Mac version is cheaper for students (whoooo) but I saw it also lacks certain features (e.g. Plug in support and grasshopper capability). Since I'll be using this program over the next 3 years (and hopefully beyond) I'm wondering whether it's worth buying Windows to dual boot my Mac and then buy the Windows version of Rhino? What should i convert my wmv files to for mac friendship. Not sure if the Mac version will shape up in that time to include that functionality. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers edit - we use Windows at uni during our labs so if I bought the Mac version I'd also have to keep switching between the two layouts when I use my own computer.
